David Margalies and his son Jake both race their classic race cars at club level with the CTCRC & the HRDC. David’s Father and Jake’s Grandfather, Dan Margulies raced internationally. He began with sprints and hill climbs in the late 1940’s, he then progressed onto circuit racing in the 50s, taking part in races held at Goodwood and Silverstone in his Talbot 105.

Also racing a Jaguar C Type in the Sardinia Trophy, with Graham Hill as his co-driver. In the 1960’s, taking part in the infamous Targa Florio in a Porsche 911 S with Rob Mackie as his co-driver. Then in the 70’s and the 80’s racing a Maserati 4CL at circuits all over the UK plus regularly going out to the Nürburgring in Germany and Monza in Italy.

David began racing in the 80s in a 2.0 Alfetta GTV, he then bought a Group 1 spec Ford Capri 3.0, which he raced in Classic Group 1 Pre-83 till the late 2000’s with the CTCRC, racing at near on every circuit in the UK plus multiple trips out to race in the British Sports GT & Saloon Car Challenge held at Spa Francorchamps in Belgium. In the late 2010’s, David went back to racing Alfa’s, racing a Group 1 Alfa Romeo GTV6 2.5 with the CTCRC.

More recently, Jake his son, started racing a Group 1 Ford Escort XR3 with the same club, progressing onto a 1990 BMW 320 Production Saloon Car, more recently racing his fathers Alfa Romeo GTV6 in the HRDC with great success, winning the very first Willhire 24 Trophy at Snetterton.

We also offer race support to people who are new to classic/historic racing, which includes the building, running, maintaining and the transporting of the car to and from the circuit. We can also provide advice and inspections in the purchasing of a classic/historic race car.
